This year’s NAME Day event is “BEDROOM – PART III: Desk and Chair.” Plans for the armoire are provided in various scales in the July/August 2018 issue of the NAME Gazette. Kits in various scales will be available. The desk and chair have been designed to coordinate with the bedroom furniture from previous NAME Days. This is the final piece for the bedroom.

To participate in NAME Day, contact one of the N2 region members who are hosting an event (below). If you are unable to attend a local event, you may purchase a kit from Barbara Thornton-Hill (deadline: 9/15/18) or other cutters.

Morgan Hill, CA
Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10 am
MiniCals & Through the Looking Glass will host a one inch scale event at M & L Precision, 18665 Madrone Parkway, Morgan Hill. Lots of trims, papers and accessories for our “Make it your Own” desk. You can also make it to accompany the armoire and bunks.   You may request a 1/4 inch kit and use trims etc., but desk accessories are one inch scale only. Breakfast and lunch, snacks and beverage. Silent auction, shoebox sales and exhibits. Bring a tool kit and jig. Cost $45. Contact Ruth Heisch

Fresno, CA
Thursday, October 4, 2018, 9 am
Participants may choose from 1″, 1/2″, or 1/4″ scales. Kits will be ordered ahead of time so anyone can contact Barbara about the scale they desire. Meeting at HobbyTown (Blackstone and Barstow). Naomi Losch is hosting a NAME Day at her home for everyone located around the islands. She is located in Kailua, Oahu. Naomi will order kits in each person’s choice of scale. Saturday, October 6, 2018, 10 am – 3 pm

The purpose of NAME Day is to unite and involve all NAME members by doing the same project on the same day at different locations throughout the U.S. and internationally. Participation in an event may occur in clubs, locally, statewide, regionally, or online.

NAME Day will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Expanded events (or areas with conflicting dates) should occur as close to this date as is reasonably possible.

Project: All events will center on the same project – “BEDROOM – PART 3: Desk and Chair” to go with the armoire and bunk bed from the previous NAME Day events. The armoire and bunk bed kits will also be available this year. Plans for the desk and chair will be provided in 1”, 1⁄2” and 1⁄4” scale as soon as they are available. Some cutters will produce kits for 1/144” scale.

August 15, 2018 – Order Kits
Official deadline for ordering from the cutters. However cutters may opt to accept orders later. Watch the listings in the Gazette for individual deadlines.

August 31, 2018 – Cutters Ship Kits
Date when the cutters can ship the kits. International shipping dates may be earlier.

October 6, 2018 – NAME Day
Some groups may set a later date to accommodate other considerations.
