Wanted: Dollhouse Restoration Assistance

A SF Bay Area miniature enthusiast is looking for a dollhouse and miniaturist expert to restore a dollhouse that her grandfather made 40 years ago.  It will be a gift for her niece’s 10th birthday in June.

The dollhouse is about 3.5′ x 2′ x 2.5′ and sits on a base (also about  3.5′ x 2′ x 2.5′ ) on wheels with a toy bin the pulls out like a drawer. The roof is hinged to give access to the attic and the front walls are hinged to give indoor access. The inside needs some cleaning and sprucing up. The shingles and siding may need to be replaced. There may also be some light carpentry needed to restore structural integrity.

The house is located in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco, where the owner hopes to accommodate it for the length of the restoration project. When the house is done, it will be going to the outer Sunset neighborhood in San Francisco.

Payment/compensation is negotiable. Please contact Susan Kimberlin.
