Lynn Hamel is a very talented miniaturist from Rancho Murieta, California. As a child, she was always interested in little things. She collected dolls and tiny glass animals. In the early ‘80s, she told her husband that she wanted a dollhouse. He surprised her with plans for a dollhouse, a gift certificate to the Elegant Dollhouse, and a membership to NAME (National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts) in 1982. She started a club in the early ‘80s and has been an avid miniaturist since then. She is a lifetime member of NAME and continues to support the organization.

Lynn has worked on many state days in the Sacramento area. She has also worked on the committees for the NAME regional houseparties. She has taught workshops at both national and regional houseparties and was always eager to help others with ideas and suggestions for completing projects. She was in several clubs like Quarter Persuasion and Folsom Fiesta and has shared her passion with others. She is always an inspiration to all of us who have worked on mini projects with her. She continues to share her ideas and techniques with other miniaturists in our area.

Lynn has completed all the NAME Day projects, which was started as a special “Members Only” project in 2010. Lynn would often complete the projects in several scales. If you look closely at some of the pictures, you can see several projects done in this manner.
